San Francisco Art Week is scaling up to be the largest yet, with organizers boasting nearly 20 additional participants, including two new art fairs to coincide with the week’s longtime anchor, Fog Design + Art.

The multivenue showcase is scheduled for Jan. 17-25, is introducing the Atrium, a new offering presented by and at the Minnesota Street Project that will highlight local galleries, and Creativity Explored x Open Invitational, a three-day art fair in the South of Market presented by the Mission District art center focused on presenting work by artists with disabilities.

“San Francisco Art Week 2026 reflects the richness and resilience of the city’s creative community,” said SFAW founder Emily Counihan.

With events throughout San Francisco, the East Bay, Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma, she believes “this year’s edition truly captures the innovation, artistic depth and collaborative spirit that make San Francisco and the Bay Area a world-class arts destination.”

Other new participants include Shvo’s Transamerica Pyramid Center, in partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Arts San Francisco, which will be hosting an art lounge open to the public during the week. The lounge is in conjunction with ICA SF’s presentations of large-scale sculptures by Tara Donovan at the Pyramid’s annex, and an outdoor project in Transamerica Redwood Park, “Earthseed Dome,” by landscape artist Lily Kwong. Programming at the lounge is supported by the Svane Family Foundation’s Culture Forward Initiative.

In Sonoma, first-time participant the Donum Estate is welcoming visitors to its collection of more than 60 monumental public works. To the south, Qualia Contemporary Art in Palo Alto will present an exhibition on the work of Oakland artist Hung Liu.

Back in San Francisco, Catharine Clark Gallery is mounting a major solo survey of acclaimed artist Masami Teraoka in celebration of his 90th birthday and the gallery’s 35th anniversary.

The full list of participants is now available on www.sfartweek.com, with more participants and programs to be announced in December.

Fog Design + Art, the 12-year-old art fair that created the buzz that birthed San Francisco Art Week, will bring together more than 60 exhibitors from Jan. 21-25. Among the 16 galleries participating for the first time are local favorites Gallery Wendi Norris, Morgann Trumbull Projects and re.riddle.

The Fog Focus program centered around emerging artists will also expand to 16 galleries in its exhibition space at neighboring Pier 2.

The 2026 fair will open with its preview gala on Jan. 21, benefiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s education program. Lovefrom founder Sir Jony Ive and Lady Heather Ive, along with artist Tabitha Soren and author Michael Lewis, are the gala’s honorary co-chairs.

The Fog Mrkt entryway installation will once again feature lower priced works by artists, designers and makers from CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, Hugomento, MMclay, Quince & Co., Small Works Projects and Works In Progress.

Fog Design + Art will announce their schedule for the Fog Talks, the series exploring art, design, technology and culture, at a later date. A full list of exhibitors can be found at www.fogfair.com
